PORTO — Teresa Figueira has joined Portuguese agency Central de Informação as managing partner, with a brief to strengthen the agency's operation in Lisbon and develop new services, both nationally and internationally.

Figueira joins from Lift Consulting, where she was a partner with responsibility for corporate communications and public affairs. Before joining Lift in 2015 she worked at H+K Strategies in Portugal for 18 years, including six years as general manager. She was also president of APECOM, the Portuguese Association of Communication and Public Relations Agencies, from 2019 to 2021.

In her new role, Figueira joins Central de Informação’s founding partners Elsa Lima de Carvalho and Rodrigo Viana de Freitas, who set up the firm in 2004, as a shareholder in the business. It now has offices in Porto and Lisbon and is a member of independent agency network IPRN. The agency's clients include Vodafone, Meatless Farm and Hyundai.

Viana de Freitas, the agency’s CEO, said Figueira’s arrival was a natural stage in the agency’s growth: “Teresa is an excellent professional, who represents all the ethical values we stand for. The strong connection that has united us for several years makes this decision very simple, as it will give Central a new dimension, capacity and strategic vision."

Figueira added: “I have followed and admired the agency’s journey over the years and have been working directly with Rodrigo for a long period on the board of directors at APECOM. Central is as innovative as it is a very consistent agency. It has the right positioning for me to help grow and develop new markets and approaches. I couldn’t be more excited”.
