LONDON — Analytics company Smart Cube has hired PR agency support in the US and UK and named Ruth Crawford as its CMO amid considerable business growth.

Crawford arrived earlier this year from Opower, where she was senior director of international marketing, after leading international corporate communications.

At Smart Cube she has named Octopus as her PR agency in the UK and hired Articulate Communications in New York to support the company's transatlantic financial services business and domestic US business.

"Our first challenge is to build a marketing function that will accelerate business growth and we are establishing in-house capability in content creation, communications, design and digital marketing," said Crawford. "But as a fast-growing company with big ambitions, we also needed agency partners who would bring agility, expertise and creativity to the table to help us raise brand awareness. Octopus’ ‘brand to sales’ approach resonated with us as we seek to consolidate The Smart Cube’s position as a leading analytics business, while at the same time directly supporting our sales efforts through creative, integrated marketing campaigns."

In addition, Smart Cube is currently seeking a PR agency in India, Crawford confirmed, as she attempts to elevate the company's overall awareness.

"In a world where data and information are ever increasing, The Smart Cube’s proposition has never been more relevant: helping clients cut through swathes of data to identify the 'so what'," she said. "Yet despite an enviable client list including many of the world’s largest businesses, The Smart Cube to date has been almost a well-kept secret."

Led by CEO, Gautam Singh, and co-founders, Omer Abdullah and Sameer Walia, The Smart Cube has doubled in size in recent years and with its analytics business increasing by 160% in the last 12 months, the company is now aiming to double in size again over the next three years.
