LONDON--Clothing retailer TK Maxx is searching for European PR support as it eyes increased growth in the region.

The Holmes Report understands that the company is in the early stages of an agency search, covering the four European markets in which it operates: UK, Ireland, Germany and Poland.

A number of UK-based PR firms are responding to a request for credentials, covering corporate, consumer, social media and fashion PR.

TK Maxx is thought to currently work with local agencies in each market, including Elevate PR in Ireland, although sources said that the new search represents a comprehensive overhaul of its approach to public relations.

Owned by US retail giant TJX Companies, TK Maxx currently operates 343 stores in Europe, with the bulk of them situated in the UK and Ireland. The retailer believes there is considerable scope for growth in Germany and Poland, and is adding 25 new stores this year, as part of a plan to double its European presence in the long-term.

The PR search comes after TK Maxx hired the Brooklyn Brothers as its first retained advertising agency, for a similar pan-European scope. That process was run by Oystercatchers, which is also understood to be handling the PR agency hunt.

Representatives from TK Maxx did not respond to request for comment as this story went live.
