WASHINGTON — Tom Reno, who until recently was Burson Cohn & Wolfe’s chief operating officer, has joined Precision Strategies as that firm’s first COO.

Reno will manage Precision’s operations and further its growth as an integrated strategy and marketing agency, the firm said in announcing the hire. Precision, founded by a trio of political strategists, work with clients across sectors including Bank of America, General Electric and Facebook.

“Tom has a rare blend of agency operations, talent management, communications and corporate finance experience that will help Precision continue its growth and ensure we provide the best service possible for our clients,” said co-founder and partner Stephanie Cutter.

Reno brings 25 years of experience in communications to the role. He joined Cohn & Wolfe as that firm's first COO in 2017, well before its merger with Burson-Marsteller was announced.

Reno left BCW in September. A BCW spokesperson said that CEO Donna Imperato has assumed operational duties, and there are no immediate plans to replace Reno.

Before joining BCW, Reno was 42West’s COO and CFO, and Solebury Communications’ CEO before that.
