LONDON — Tuva Partners, the technology communications and branding consultancy set up last year by former AxiCom director James Kennedy and co-founder Julian Tanner, has hired a third former AxiCom exec to its leadership team.

Alex Brooks (pictured, right) joins as a partner in the one-year-old firm, which now has five team members and is planning to double in size within the next six months. Brooks, who brings specialised telecomms and enterprise IT industry experience to the agency, was an associate director at AxiCom, which he joined four years ago. He was previously at tech agency Octopus Group.

Kennedy (pictured, second right, with Tanner and director of finance Caroline Merritt) told the Holmes Report: “We were always impressed by the work Alex did, and he was looking for a new challenge. He is a safe pair of hands, with the right level of experience with cyber security, data and cloud computing clients that we needed as we grow.”

Tuva’s client portfolio is based on four key areas: enterprise IT, fintech, cleantech and energy, and medtech. Recent wins include battery innovator Innolith, data literacy firm Carruthers & Jackson, database company InfluxData, data analytics start-up Over-C and IoT firm IMS Evolve.

The agency has recently moved into bigger offices to accommodate its growth, working alongside design agency Kimpton Creative, and launched a new website (complete with specially-commissioned soundtrack) that highlights services such as influencer relations, social and digital, content creation, and design and branding.

Tuva Partners was named for quantum physicist Richard Feynman’s quote – “Tuva or bust” –  about his journey to one of the most remote parts of the world: Tuva, in Siberia.
