LONDON — Unilever has announced long-serving executive Conny Braams as its new chief digital and marketing officer, filling the gap left by the departure of Keith Weed in December last year.

Braams has been elevated from her current position as EVP, Unilever Middle Europe. She joined Unilever in 1990 and has held a variety of marketing leadership and general management roles across European and Asian markets.

In her current role as EVP Middle Europe, Braams is responsible for Unilever’s business in DACH, Nordics, Italy and the Benelux region, where she leads the company’s largest European unit.

Braams, who takes up her new role on 1 January 2020, was previously EVP Benelux and Home Care Europe, where she led the digital and marketing transformation of Unilever’s business, and before that, grew the Unilever Food Solutions business as EVP for Asia, Africa and Middle East between 2010 and 2016.

Unilever CEO Alan Jope: “Conny Braams is one of our most successful and talented leaders, as well as a highly effective driver of change. As our new chief digital and marketing officer, her experience will be critical to the transformation of Unilever into a future-fit, fully digitised organisation at the leading edge of consumer marketing.”
