LONDON — Unity has won a competitive pitch to handle public relations for UK cinema chain Vue. The account, which was previously held by Edelman, is believed to be worth six figures annually.

The agency will be working to amplify the entertainment provider’s brand strategy, which is focused on differentiating itself by showing how Vue gives film lovers a “fully immersive big screen experience.”

Unity will work with Vue’s other partners on an integrated campaign to be rolled out later in the year, across owned, earned and paid media. The brief includes film promotion, brand experience work and content creation.

Vue Entertainment director of sales and marketing Shona Gold said: “We were really impressed with Unity’s understanding of our brand and purpose. The agency’s ideas and focus on the cinematic experience chime with us and we look forward to doing some great work together.”

Unity  CEO and founder Gerry Hopkinson added: “We’re delighted to be working with Vue, a category leader that champions the cinematic experience and its benefits for everyone. It was a real meeting of minds, as we both believe there is a huge opportunity to focus on the way a trip to the movies can meet real human needs and provide an uplifting experience - giving us time to dream and be inspired.”
