RICHMOND, VA — The Virginia Wine Board has named Padilla its agency of record, bolstering the firm’s growing roster of clients in the wine business.

Padilla will handle marketing and communications for the organization, which represents the sixth-largest wine growing region in the US. The agency is charged with creating an integrated marketing and communications plan, consumer and media relations and other public relations strategies.

The deal with Padilla is an expansion of the Virginia Wine Board’s existing relationship with Joe Smith, Padilla’s brand consultancy. Joe Smith has worked with the organization to drive awareness of the region through a new brand story and visual identity as well as events.

The move also is a boost to Padilla’s growing list of wine clients.  In September, Ribera del Duero and Rueda, two of the leading wine regions in Spain, selected Padilla as its agency of record in the US. The International Sommelier Association and Bordeaux Wines US also are Padilla partners.
