NEW YORK — W2O Group COO and client services head Jenn Gottlieb has been named the agency’s president, gaining oversight of the firm’s three largest operating companies.

Gottlieb, who has been with W2O for 12 of its 17 years, will be responsible for W2O/WCG, W2O/Twist and W2O/Pure, which together generated roughly $100m of the firm’s $140m 2017 revenue, according to the agency.

The move allows CEO and founder Jim Weiss to focus on expanding the digital and analytics firms it acquired in 2016, W2O/Sentient and W2O/Marketeching, EMEA operations and the company’s overarching global strategy.

“We are definitely going to change things up in a positive way,” Gottlieb said.

Weiss said Gottlieb’s promotion is part of a larger push underway to scale the firm’s operations to reflect its growth of roughly 55% over the last two years. Giving her more leadership responsibilities will allow W2O to bolster its digital and analytical offerings while maintaining the standard of its more traditional communications and marketing services, he said.

W2O acquired a total of three companies  — Pure, Sentient and Marketeching — after selling a stake to a private equity firm in May 2016, moves that first pushed the company over the $100m threshold.
