SHANGHAI—Waggener Edstrom Worldwide has promoted Antoine Calendrier’s to general manager of China. Calendrier is charged with refining and growing the agency’s China operations, including a refocus on WE’s capabilities in integrated storytelling.

He brings global luxury and crisis expertise to the agency, having led corporate communications for Hennessy and crisis teams at Burson-Marsteller and Euro RSCG.

The firm has also added senior talent, including Jason Cao as head of technology and director of business development for WE-China. Previously the general manager of Text100 Beijing and the agency’s director of business development for the Greater China region, Cao brings more than 14 years of communications experience across the business-to-business and technology sectors.

Writer-journalist Mina Choi has been named China consumer practice lead, bringing experience writing for The Wall Street Journal, Financial Times, and South China Morning Post. Ying Tiun has joined as digital strategist. And Cathleen Witter, vice president, healthcare and business development, has relocated from Singapore to Shanghai.
