LONDON — Weber Shandwick has bolstered its executive leadership team in EMEA with two senior appointments under new regional chief executive Michael Frohlich.

Charlotte Witte, previously head of global client strategies and former head of marketing communications at Prime Weber Shandwick in Stockholm, has been promoted to the newly-created role of chief client and growth officer for EMEA.

At the same time, marketing and new business specialist Jane Douglas joins the agency as executive vice president of marketing and communications in EMEA, a new role which encompasses business development, marketing and communications for the region. Douglas joins from Ogilvy UK, having previously worked alongside Frohlich, Ogilvy’s former UK CEO, at the agency.

Frohlich said: “As we continue to build our EMEA leadership team and operations, we are reconfirming Weber’s commitment to being a global powerhouse, which is why I’m delighted to be bringing two world-class leaders into the executive team in the region.

“This is the start of an exciting EMEA revolution of innovation and powerful growth. The leadership I have in Charlotte and Jane is outstanding and I look forward to driving forward with them to achieve sustainable growth for us and our clients.”

In her new role, Witte (pictured, left) is based in Stockholm, with a remit to bring Weber Shandwick’s integrated offering to clients across the region, focusing on deepening existing relationships and driving organic growth. In her 16 years at Prime and Weber Shandwick, she has worked with clients including IKEA, Electrolux, Visit Sweden and Essity, and while at Prime led one of the most Cannes Lions-awarded PR teams in the world.

Before joining Prime in 2006, which was acquired by Weber Shandwick in 2014, Witte held senior marketing roles at the Institute for International Research and software company Spectral. She was named to PRovoke Media’s Innovator 25 for EMEA in 2019.

Witte said: “With our breadth and depth in all aspects of strategic communications, we are in a position to deliver a clear, integrated offering to support our clients in their growth and change plans. I’m thrilled to be taking on this new role among the EMEA regional leadership to support our clients to better and more effective work and continued growth as we build our own world-class, integrated offer.”

Based in London, Douglas (pictured, right) has responsibility for ongoing marketing, communications and new business initiatives. With 22 years’ experience in agency marketing and new business, Douglas has worked at network agencies including Grey, Lowe and most recently Ogilvy, where she had been head of marketing and new business in the UK for three years.

Douglas said: “I’m excited to be joining Weber at a time when they are re-inventing, delivering the key capabilities clients are looking for in an agency partnership. The agency is building a stellar central team in EMEA and, with a clear focus on growth, I’m looking forward to partnering with Michael and Charlotte in delivering our hugely compelling story to market.”
