LONDON — Weber Shandwick has appointed two new directors and promoted four senior account after a year of double-digit growth in its B2B practice.

William Roberts joins as director to support clients across performance marketing, lead generation, and brand strategy. Roberts joins from McCann Enterprise, where he developed brand awareness strategies and nurtured key client relationships in the Middle East, the US, China and Europe.

In addition, Kevin Bossi returns to Weber Shandwick as director to lead technology and telecoms client accounts in the UK. He first worked at the agency as VP technology from 2000 to 2007. Bossi joins from Adobe Systems, where he led corporate and product communications for four years. Before that, he was at Edelman for eight years as Director/SVP.

The appointments come after three of Weber Shandwick’s B2B technology leaders – Joe Walton, UK managing director of the B2B technology practice, planning managing director David Woodward and director Charlie Meredith-Hardy – left to start their own agency in October. The London office also recently lost UK CEO Rachel Friend.

Roberts and Bossi report to Laura Tapper, managing director of Weber Shandwick’s London B2B practice. She said: “We have a vibrant B2B offer, powered by a data-led, digitally enabled approach to marketing. Kevin and William have proven expertise in building brand strategies that shape impactful creative campaigns.

“With a robust senior leadership team in place, we’re consistently linking our communications activity to clear, tangible outcomes for B2B customers. As a result, we’ve been able to better support clients while also growing our own capabilities in-house.”

In addition to the new senior hires, Weber Shandwick has promoted Benjamin Pfeffer to B2B director; he returns to London following two-and-a-half years in the agency’s New York office. Chris Harris, Catherine Mallaband, and Ronan Cloud have also been promoted to director in recent months.

Weber Shandwick London managing director Helen Bennett, who was promoted into the role last May said: “We’re proud to welcome new and returning team members, as well as congratulate those who have been promoted following a successful year for the team. Laura’s leadership has certainly accelerated our powerful B2B proposition, and we’re looking forward to continued growth in 2020.”

The agency said its B2B growth was partly driven by 12 new client accounts in London, across financial services, technology, energy, manufacturing and logistics, in addition to a roster of existing B2B clients, with an average tenure of eight years across the top four.
