LONDON — Former Golin co-CEO Jon Hughes has joined Edelman as a senior advisor, working across the firm's brand advisory and integrated marketing practices.

Hughes arrives at Edelman after leaving Golin at the end of 2019, following a 14-year stint with the Interpublic Group (IPG) firm, which culminated in being one of its three global co-CEOs.

At Edelman he will serve as senior advisor within the brand advisory practice, which was established by Richard Wergan in 2018. Specifically, he will aim to connect these clients with Edelman's other capabilities, including creative, strategy and planning, data and analytics, while also working with EMEA COO AJ Hesselink.

In addition, Hughes will help Edelman's larger clients to expand the firm's integrated marketing offering, working globally with vice chair Russell Dubner, who has recently taken on leadership for corporate development to manage the firm's mergers and acquisitions and venture investments, alliances and partnerships.

“I’ve always admired Edelman from afar but to see up close the depth and breadth of its talent, its IP and its progressive culture is a real privilege," said Hughes. "I’m really excited by the opportunity to work with teams from across the agency to harness everything Edelman has to offer to help our clients meet their business, brand and marketing challenges."

Hughes becomes the second senior ex-IPG figure to join Edelman in recent weeks, following the arrival of Tim Sutton as of counsel for the DJE Holdings parent group.
