LONDON — ZTE has hired Hotwire to help it climb into the ranks of the top three mobile device companies within three years.

The firm won the six-figure business after a competitive review and its work begins immediately.

Specifically, Hotwire will handle the mobile phone manufacturer’s European PR. It will lead a consumer and corporate PR campaign, raising the brand and corporate reputation across Europe (UK, France, Germany and Nordics via affiliate Northern Link). ZTE works with Ogilvy in the US.

In addition to strategic consultancy, Hotwire will provide support via media relations and events to launch new handsets and build links with influencers in the consumer space.

Headquartered in China, ZTE is the world’s fourth largest mobile handset manufacturer. The company produces a range of devices, including mobile phones, tablets, mobile broadband modems and hotspots and family desktop integration terminals.
