SAN FRANCISCO--Zynga, the company behind popular social games FarmVille and Mafia Wars, is hunting for more PR support as it expands aggressively in the US and UK.

The Holmes Report understands that the company is searching for an agency to handle corporate PR in the US, three months after it appointed New York firm M Booth & Associates to handle its consumer PR. M Booth’s sister firm OutCast currently handles corporate PR for Zynga on a project basis.

Zynga was recently valued at approximately $10 billion through a round of financing from investors that raised $500 million in capital. Previous investors in Zynga include Google, Softbank and DST. Equity analysts expect the company to pursue an IPO by 2013.

In addition, it has emerged that Zynga recently pitched PR duties in the UK, prompting presentations from a number of the country’s agencies. According to confidential RFP documents seen by the Holmes Report, Zynga is aiming to drive its awareness as a platform for social games among consumer, business and tech outlets.

The brief also calls for “out-of-the-box, creative proposals” to launch CityVille in the UK, among other initiatives.

“Zynga’s mission is to connect the world through games and our objectives include driving overall awareness of the company and Zynga games with mainstream consumers as well as key contacts within the business and technology industry," reads the RFP. "Initiatives will include launching new games and features, pro and reactive business and technology news flow, and developing fully integrated consumer marketing programs.”
