DOUGLAS, ISLE OF MAN--The Isle Of Man Government is reviewing its public relations and public affairs agency accounts, worth as much as £500K.

The business encompasses PR and PA briefs for the Manx Government’s Chief Secretary’s Office, and its Department of Economic Development (DfED).

These cover the British Crown Dependency’s tourism PR business, and its various efforts to promote itself as a destination for investment, to such sectors as financial services, online gaming, cleantech and filmmaking.

The tourism brief is currently handled by Weber Shandwick, while the remainder of the PR/PA activity, accounting for the lion’s share of the budget, is overseen by Lansons.

It is understood that presentations from a handful of agencies are taking place today. A Government spokesperson declined to comment while the process was ongoing.

The Isle of Man offers incentives to companies to locate on the island, ensuring that high-income industries such as banking, online gaming and filmmaking now account for the bulk of its GDP. The DfED also funds the Isle of Man's most recognisable brand, the TT Races that attract considerable investment and tourism to the island.

The Chief Secretary's Office, meanwhile, helps coordinate the Government’s corporate initiatives and international relationships,
