After a stint at tech firm Cisco running internal comms across more than 60 countries and increasing the impact of comms worldwide, Maria Poveromo was appointed to the company’s executive leadership team as senior VP and chief communications officer in 2021. She now leads the global communications team, managing internal and external comms and advancing the company’s brand and reputation with powerful storytelling.
Poveromo is something of a tech megalith stalwart, having spent 18 years at Adobe and worked as VP at IBM. She’s also an advocate for gender equality and social justice, and has worked for nonprofits in Silicon Valley and across Europe. She says she brings her best self to her leadership role every day, along with ‘a passion for conscious leadership and creative execution.’
