With US and Brazilian law degrees and decades of experience in both countries, Alexandre D’Ambrosio brings far more than legal prowess to his role, leading corporate and external affairs for Brazilian metal and mining giant Vale — which shows in his extensive and varied slate of responsibilities. D’Ambrosio oversees taxation, institutional relations and communications, as well as corporate, intellectual property, trade compliance and data protection sectors of South America’s largest mining company, which he joined in 2018.
D’Ambrosio also works as director of Vale Internacional and is considered a key player in furthering the company’s growth. His experience spans corporate sectors including financial markets, metals and mining, IT and telecoms in Brazil and the US, where he earned an LLM from Harvard.
Before Vale, D’Ambrosio served as executive VP of Banco Santander (Brasil) and was corporate legal director of investment group Votorantim. When not at his day job, D’Ambrosio has lectured on commercial law and capital markets at the Higher Education Institute of Brasília.
