Amy Bonitatibus

Chief Corporate Affairs & Communications Officer
PayPal
US

Amy Bonitatibus likes a challenge, which is no surprise given her recent professional moves. After 10 years at JPMorgan Chase and five at Fannie Mae before that, Bonitatibus bucked the comfort zone when she joined scandal-plagued Wells Fargo in 2022 and did the same in June, when she was named PayPal’s chief corporate affairs and communications officer.

While PayPal is immense among payment & transaction platforms (only Visa is larger) the company is not without its challenges. The first new CCO in a decade (she succeeds Franz Paasche), Bonitatibus is responsible for leading global comms for PayPal and its brands, including Venmo, under another newcomer: CEO Alex Chriss, who last September took over the job from Dan Schulman, who had led the company for nearly a decade.

And, while business surged during the Covid pandemic, the last three years haven’t been as fortuitous for the platform, during which it experienced a market correction, slowed growth and increased competition, making it Bonitatibus’ responsibility to communicate PayPal’s turnaround strategy.
