Catherine Frymark couldn’t have picked a much better time to join Mattel, the toy company focused on bringing its brands to the next level. Hired from Discovery to lead corporate communications in 2020, Frymark assumed her role not long before the Barbie boom that made Mattel part of a global phenom, as well as the launch of the company’s larger plan to expand its brands into areas such as gaming and apparel, as well as film. Promoting inclusivity, the toymaker has pledged to make around 80% of its games catalog accessible to colored players by the end of the year.
