Joseph Evangelisti

Head of Worldwide Corporate Communications
JP Morgan Chase
US

A 30-year veteran of JP Morgan’s in-house communications department, Joe Evangelisti’s credibility with the financial media and other key stakeholders has been an invaluable asset as observers began questioning the viability of some of the most hallowed names in the financial sector in the wake of the financial crisis that brought down Lehman Brothers and threatened so many others.

After all, JP Morgan Chase is the largest bank in the US and largest global bank by market cap and its chief executive Jamie Dimon is arguably the most high-profile CEO in the corporate world and the political realm. Evangelisti has been his trusted advisor for the past two decades—most recently helping the bank navigate the fallout from its connections to the Jeffrey Epstein sex scandal.

Evangelisti joined Morgan in 1986, and worked initially on internal communications, then media relations. He has worked in the UK with responsibility for the EMEA region, returning to New York in 1996 and taking increasingly senior roles following the mergers with Chase and Bank One. In his current role, he is chief spokesman and a member of the company’s brand marketing council, and also serves as champion for the firm’s PRIDE employee networking group.
