As the company’s first communications hire, Su Min Sng joined Grab when the ride-hailing operator was only in 15 cities, and has since overseen communications during the Singapore company’s rise to become one of Asia’s key superapps — a journey that included rebranding, acquiring Uber in Southeast Asia, and listing on the Nasdaq via the world’s largest SPAC merger.

Sng oversees internal and external communications, executive comms and editorial content for Grab, which has included creating the corporate brand positioning as an ‘everyday superapp’ and successfully defusing a range of crises. Her team also conceptualised and launched the successful GrabForGood social impact programme, with Sng’s relatively fuss-free profile reflecting Grab’s ethos of driving economic empowerment across Southeast Asia.
