WASHINGTON — FTI Consulting has appointed Thyago Mathias as a senior director and Adriana Prado as a director in the strategic communications segment, both of whom will be based in São Paulo. The additions of Mathias and Prado represent continued expansion of the strategic communications’ footprint in Latin America, Mathias brings more than 15 years of experience in advocacy, crisis management, market intelligence and reputation management across a number of industries. Prado has more than 15 years of experience advising major retail, technology, consumer goods, infrastructure and global financial services companies. She specializes in the intersection of communications, cybersecurity, data protection and privacy.

CHICAGO — Zeno Group has hired industry veteran Katie Cwayna as senior VP, media strategy. Most recently, Cwayna served as director of media relations at FOX News Channel, serving as a spokesperson for the network while overseeing day-to-day communications for on-air talent and programming.

WASHINGTON — Jonathan Burks has joined Brunswick’s Washington office as a partner focused on public affairs and political issues. Burks was most recently founder of JWB Advisors, a boutique advisory firm focused on providing insights into Washington policy making. Prior to JWB, Burks served as the chief of staff to Speaker of the House Paul Ryan from 2016 to 2019. He advised the Speaker on all aspects of policy, politics, strategy and communications.
