NEW YORK—Makovsky + Company is launching Makovsky Corporate Advisors, a new division that will provide services to chief communications officers, chief HR officers and CEOs in leadership and organizational change, employee communications, corporate reputation, social responsibility and governance issues.

Andrew Goldberg, a 25-year industry veteran, has been tapped to lead the new unit, as executive vice president and head of Makovsky Corporate Advisors. Goldberg has held senior positions at Burson-Marsteller and led his own communications consultancy and has been involved in change and reputation management for clients in numerous industries and all major regions.

“We have seen increasingly diverse demands in the market as a result of economic change, business complexity and globalization,” said Ken Makovsky, CEO and President. "Our focus has been in health, technology, financial and professional services and energy. Corporate Advisors will target a whole new range of industries from automotive and defense to media and food, while still partnering with our current clients where needs may arise.”

The new group is based at Makovsky’s offices in New York, and will be offering its capabilities internationally through IPREX, the international corporation of independent public relations firms.

Goldberg has held a number of senior positions in communications and marketing, including CEO of Pivot Red (a boutique brand-marketing agency and subsidiary of WPP), chairman of the corporate practice at Burson-Marsteller, and CEO of AGG International (a changemanagement consultancy serving clients in Europe and Asia). He has also held positions at the Rand Corporation, Brookings Institution, and the Center for Strategic and International Studies.
