CHICAGO — The Arbor Day Foundation, the conservation giant dedicated to planting trees, has named Zeno Group as its US communications agency of record.

Zeno won the business in a competitive pitch. The agency is charged with working with the Nebraska-based foundation to bolster the group’s global leadership in environmental conservation and education, while also supporting its efforts to encourage individuals and businesses to plant and care for trees.

Efforts will focus on rallying corporations and their employees, foundation partners and consumers around the world to help rejuvenate national forests, urban tree populations and rainforests. Zeno has created a cross-functional team to lead the communications and digital efforts.

The Arbor Day Foundation has more than one million members, making it the largest nonprofit membership organization dedicated to planting trees, according to the foundation. The group promotes trees as a solution to a range of global issues including air quality, water quality, climate change and hunger. More than 300 million Arbor Day Foundation trees have been planted since the group’s inception in 1972.
