NEW YORK — The Aruba Tourism Authority has handed North American PR duties to Zeno Group, as part of its overarching goal of boosting travel to the Dutch Caribbean island.

Zeno is tasked with distinguishing the destination from others in the region as well as positioning Aruba in such a way that it draws both visitors and businesses.

The selection caps a review process that had been underway since late last summer, and included incumbent Zimmerman Agency. Havas Formula, KWT Global and H&K Strategies are among other firms that participated.

During the review, sources said the tourism authority, the island’s official travel marketing organization, was offering a three-year, $500,000 contract for the work.  The authority had not confirmed that figure at the time this story went live.

"Today’s consumers are looking for consistently compelling and relevant content about authentic destination experience to make their search for travel guidance easier and less risky," said Ronella Tjin Asjoe-Croes, the organization's CEO. "We were looking for a fully integrated 'tradigital' public relations agency to elevate engaging experiences to drive consistent high-value visitor arrivals on 'One Happy Island.'"
