TOKYO—Weber Shandwick has appointed Grace Fromm as deputy managing director, Japan, where she will oversee international client services and the firm’s digital and consumer offering in Japan. Prior to Weber Shandwick, Fromm held roles at Overture Japan (acquired by Yahoo!), where she built and managed an extensive sales team, and was previously the COO of WomenJapan.com and held positions at AT&T in Japan and the US.

DELHI—Edelman India has hired Kunal Arora as national director of Edelman Digital in India, overseeing business planning and development, leading a team of digital experts across Mumbai, Delhi and Bangalore. Before joining Edelman, he was the business lead at Hungama Digital Services for six years. Also joining is Deepak Agarwal as group creative director, digital, based in Mumbai and reporting to Arora. He previously served as executive creative director at direct marketing and digital shop Copy M&C Saatchi.

SINGAPORE—Waggener Edstrom Communications has promoted Shefali Srinivas to healthcare director for Asia Pacific from the same position in Singapore. In her new role, she will be responsible for managing the healthcare client portfolio and expanding the practice across the region. Shefali’s experience as a journalist spans 10 years across leading publications in Singapore, the US, South Africa, and India, including four years at The Straits Times.

HONG KONG—Bell Pottinger has appointed former senior British diplomat Mark Canning to bolster the company’s growth in Asia and counsel clients targeting markets in the region. He joins Bell Pottinger as a senior adviser, having served twice in Indonesia, most recently as British Ambassador and as Britain’s Permanent Representative to the Association of South East Asian Nations. He has also served as British Ambassador to Myanmar and as Deputy High Commissioner to Malaysia.

TOKYO—Weber Shandwick has been selected to lead marketing initiatives for Crayola in Japan as the company is preparing to launch its brand in the market for the first time. Weber Shandwick will provide a full range of integrated marketing solutions for Crayola, including social media and content creation, event planning and management and media relations.

SYDNEY—Espresso Communications has appointed Matthew Overington as group director. He joins the Espresso team after eight years with Hill+Knowlton Strategies, where he held senior roles in the Australian, Korean and Singaporean offices, most recently as regional director, technology. Espresso has also announced the appointment of Caroline La Rose as account manager, and Katie Pickford as consultant.
