SÃO PAULO — Former Edelman Brazil CEO Martin Montoya has been named BCW’s new head of Latin America.

Montoya will be responsible for leading the growth of 13 Latin American offices, with a focus on strengthening the region’s integrated offerings. He replaces former global president of brand solutions Jim Joseph, who oversaw Latin America before leaving Burson Cohn & Wolfe in August to lead McCann Health North America.

Global CEO Donna Imperato, to whom Montoya reports, said: “Martin has an enviable track record in building and leading agencies across disciplines and delivering integrated solutions that drive powerful results for clients.

"This was a critical factor in our search for a regional leader. He also has a deep commitment to diversity and inclusion, to creating environments in which talent and culture can thrive. This, too, was a requirement for his role as an agency board member.”

Montoya, who joins on September 14, brings nearly 30 years of industry experience, serving most recently as Cheil Brazil’s chief operating officer. Previously, he spent nearly two years as CEO of Edelman Brazil, where he oversaw the operation’s restructuring, and has also held management positions at J. Walter Thompson and Lowe Worldwide in Brazil.
