NEW YORK — IBM has hired Jeffrey DeMarrais from CA Technologies as its chief external relations officer as noted on LinkedIn. 

Last June, CA Technologies appointed DeMarrais as SVP and chief communications officer, based in New York, reporting to chief marketing officer Lauren Flaherty. CA Technologies hasn't responded to questions on who will fill the CCO role. 

Before that, DeMarrais was GE Healthcare's chief communications officer and he also led the communications strategy to expand GE's Industrial Internet IoT initiative outside the United States.

He announced his arrival at IBM earlier this week via Twitter. IBM hasn't responded inquiries for details on DeMarrais' role. Industry legend Jon Iwata leads IBM’s marketing, communications and citizenship organization and is known for building the company's  strategic brand platforms, including e-business, Smarter Planet and Watson. 


DeMarrais
