SEATTLE — REI has named Roma McCaig the co-op’s new VP of public affairs and impact. In her role at REI, McCaig (pictured) and the newly created public affairs and impact organization will work to scale the co-op’s mission and purpose, with work including internal and external communications, employee events and recognition, sustainability, community partnerships, philanthropic giving, public policy, government affairs, and broader advocacy initiatives. McCaig brings more than 25 years of experience at the forefront of communications, business operations and impact to REI. Most recently, she served as senior VP of impact and communications at Clif Bar & Company.

NEW YORK — Eileen Sheil has been appointed assistant vice provost for communications and public affairs for Weill Cornell Medicine. Starting Feb. 1, Sheil will jointly lead the office of external affairs and oversee its more than 40-member division of communications and public affairs, which encompasses functions including editorial, multimedia, media relations, social media, marketing and brand, and government and community affairs. She succeeds Mason Essif, who led the division for nearly a decade. Sheil has spent three decades in healthcare communications. She served most recently as chief communications officer of medical technology company Cue Health. Before that, Sheil was VP of global external communications for Medtronic and executive director of corporate communications for Cleveland Clinic.

ATLANTA — Craig Hodges has joined Cox Enterprises as senior VP of corporate affairs. In this role, Hodges will oversee the corporate communications and corporate social responsibility strategy, while providing communications counsel to executive leaders. Hodges replaces Bob Jimenez who retires at the end of the year. He joins Cox from VF Corporation, the parent company to numerous apparel and footwear brands including Vans, The North Face, Timberland and others.
