BIRMINGHAM, AL — Stephanie Cooper has been named Alabama Power’s VP of corporate sustainability. Cooper will oversee the development and implementation of the company’s strategic initiatives related to social responsibility, governance and sustainability. She will work with teams across the company and the Southern Company system to address resource conservation, energy usage and other sustainability efforts, ensuring organizational effectiveness and compliance. Cooper currently serves as VP of public relations, overseeing the company’s corporate communications and brand management.

RESTON, VA — The Financial Data Exchange has appointed Tom Carpenter as director of public affairs and marketing. Carpenter previously served as the chair of FDX's government affairs taskforce. In his new role, Carpenter will be responsible for managing and growing the nonprofit's foothold and brand within the broader financial data ecosystem. He will also oversee external communications, including press and media engagements, as well as government affairs outreach to policymakers and regulators.
