OVERLAND PARK, KS—Doug Michelman is to lead communications at Sprint, departing Finsbury two months after he took charge of the firm's San Francisco office.
Michelman, who previously spent a decade as chief communications officer at Visa, replaces corporate communications and CSR SVP Bill White, who is leaving Sprint after 32 years with the company.
“Doug brings world-class experience to Sprint,” said Sprint CEO Marcelo Claure. “I’m excited about Doug joining my leadership team and believe his background is a tremendous fit for Sprint’s journey to reshape the wireless industry. Simple, honest and transparent communication is an integral component in reshaping the wireless industry."
Michelman begins his Sprint role on Monday, after being named head of Finsbury's San Francisco's office in September. Upon leaving Visa last year, Michelman served as a senior adviser to the WPP firm.
Prior to Visa, Michelman served in various roles at FleishmanHillard, including regional president and senior partner.
