NEW YORK — Edelman has hired Chris Gee to spearhead the integration of digital capabilities into the firm’s US corporate affairs offerings.

In the newly created managing director role, Gee will work with US corporate affairs & advisory services leaders to help clients achieve goals such as repositioning their companies, navigating crises and furthering diversity & inclusion with the aid of digital expertise.

Gee joins from Finsbury, where he served as US head of digital strategy. Earlier in his career, he held senior digital leadership roles at RF|Binder, Burson-Marsteller and Teneo.

“Due to Covid-19, the past six months of digital communications adoption has leapfrogged ahead six years,” said global corporate practice chair Jim O’Leary. “Chris has been putting digital and data at the core throughout his career advising C-suite executives at some of the world’s top companies. His knowledge of the digital ecosystem and CommsTech will be invaluable to our clients.”

Bringing Gee onboard is the latest in a series of steps aimed at strengthening Edelman’s corporate affairs offering. A new partnership with consultancy RHR that enables Edelman to expand its executive leadership training is among the practice’s newly enhanced offerings.
