HO CHI MINH CITY — Edelman has made another senior hire from adland, hiring Thien Thanh Nguyen as its new CEO in Vietnam.

Nguyen, former GM of Publicis Vietnam, will lead AVC Edelman’s Ho Chi Minh City office of 46 employees. She reports to Iain Twine, CEO of Edelman Southeast Asia and Australasia.

Ngoc Anh Bui, former MD of AVC Edelman, remains with the firm in a newly-created advisory role.

Nguyen spent the past 14 years with Publicis Vietnam, where she served eight years as GM. Prior to Publicis, she worked at JWT as planning and account director for nearly five years.

“Since the acquisition of AVC Communications in 2012, AVC Edelman has grown immensely together with its clients under the leadership of Ngoc Anh,” said Twine. “We are delighted to welcome TT, whose creative advertising experience and strategic planning leadership will maintain AVC Edelman’s top position in the Vietnam PR industry, while extending its capabilities across the entire communications marketing spectrum."

Nguyen is the latest in a series of senior hires that Edelman has made from the advertising world. Former Leo Burnett Malaysia MD Robert Kay arrived last year to lead Edelman Malaysia, while advertising veteran Jeffrey Yu was hired to oversee China. In addition, former BBDO China chief Carol Potter now serves as executive vice-chairman of the firm across APACMEA.
