NEW YORK — Edelman New York chief creative officer Jimmie Stone has expanded his purview to include Latin America.

In his new role, Venezuela-born Stone will develop and lead a team of creatives around Latin America, building on the efforts of the agency’s creative leaders in Mexico, Eduardo Cisneros, and Brazil, Rogerio Gonçalves.

Stone will retain his position as Edelman’s New York chief creative officer, a job he has held for the last three of his seven years with the agency. In that role, he leads a team of more than 100 creatives, driving campaigns for top-tier clients such as REI, Unilever and Samsung.

“With Jimmie as part of our team, we are very much looking forward to advance our earned creative capabilities,” said Edelman Latin America CEO Allan McCrea Steele. “His presence will contribute to make Edelman Latin America a global hub of creativity, integrating even more of our offices across the region to deliver programs with global agency competencies and deep local roots.”

Stone has more than 20 years of experience working on the creative side of the business, and is a member of Edelman’s larger 600-person creative team.

Before Edelman, he spent 14 years as a partner and chief creative strategist at Green Team, where he helped co-create an agency culture focused on vital social and environmental issues.

“I’m very excited to be part of the Edelman team in the region that I came from,” said Stone. “It is an honor to be a conduit for the brilliance, ingenuity and unique talent that is characteristic of Latin America. I hope to inspire and engage my colleagues to interconnect culture, creativity and the consumer to elevate brands.”
