LONDON — Publicasity has been appointed by 70-year-old carpet care brand 1001, which is owned by WD-40, as its consumer PR agency. Publicasity will support the brand with media relations and an influencer strategy, targeting home and interiors and lifestyle media. The account will be led by Beth Colmer, who will report into 1001 brand manager, Arti Manthena.

LONDON — International consumer technology, B2B technology and gaming communication specialist Ranieri Agency has won the UK PR account of Muse Group, which provides musicians with software and communities, after a competitive pitch. Ranieri will oversee communications strategy and social media for all Muse Group brands: MuseScore, Ultimate Guitar, Audacity, StaffPad and MuseScore.com.

LONDON — The PRCA has announced plans to launch a new Global Client-Consultancy Charter, outlining best practice principles to strengthen the relationship between consultants and clients. The project is led by PRCA council chair Rob Colmer and follows recent PRCA research that found 30% of agency leaders say the pitching process is ‘out of hand’, and 60% believe there is insufficient protection of intellectual property during pitching. The first version of the Charter was created 10 years ago to help PR consultancies and client organisations work effectively together. PRCA members are invited to submit their views on the new charter.

LONDON — Television and radio presenter Dermot O’Leary has chosen Dundas Communications to handle UK press and publicity. The 10-year-old agency will work with O’Leary and his team at John Noel Management immediately to manage enquiries across all media.

DUBAI — International property and real estate firm Chestertons (pictured) has hired Start PR in London to handle international PR, consumer communications and media relations as it establishes new markets across Europe, Asia and the Middle East. The agency will emphasise Chesterton’s history and global presence, with a focus on its new homes, global franchise and Middle East divisions, based in Dubai.

LONDON — Jargon PR has been appointed by UK-based customer behaviour research and insights company Mindlab International, which specialises in testing non-conscious decision making, to raise brand awareness through an industry awards campaign.

LONDON — Automated software testing platform Leapwork has selected Babel to drive its UK and US communications programme, following global expansion in 2021. Leapwork – which counts PayPal, Ricoh and Mercedes-Benz among its customers – appointed the agency after it led comms for its Series B funding announcement. Babel has been tasked with supporting Leapwork’s go-to-market strategy by increasing brand awareness and share of voice and demonstrating how the firm solves business challenges.
