MILAN—FleishmanHillard has promoted Massimo Moriconi to lead its Milan office. Moriconi will assume responsibility for the firm's business in Italy and will join FleishmanHillard's EMEA management team. He will report to John Saunders, regional president of Europe, Middle East and Africa. Moriconi, who joined the agency in January 2011, has experience in brand marketing, crisis communications and public affairs. He has a professional background that covers agency, broadcast media (with Mediaset), institutional (United Nations) and foreign affairs (the Italian government in Brazil).

LONDON—MWW, one of the top five independent public relations firms in the United States, has appointed Simon Gentry (pictured) to lead a new public affairs practice focused on providing clients with support in London and Brussels. Gentry joins MWW from Good Relations and before that ran his own specialist PA agency for 10 years and was head of European affairs at the Association of British Insurers for three years, following a six year stint in the corporate communications function at SmithKline Beecham.

LONDON—Capital MSL has promoted Liam Clark and Olivia Griffiths to director. Clark joined Capital MSL in 2010, having worked within the Publicis Groupe, Capital MSL’s parent company, since 2008, and works within Capital MSL's energy and resources practice. Griffiths rejoined Capital MSL’s financial and professional services practice in April 2011, having served as senior communications officer at Man Group.

LONDON—Atomic PR has been appointed by Pernod Ricard UK to lead consumer and digital PR for three of its wine brands: Campo Viejo, a popular Spanish wine; Australian wine brand Jacob's Creek; and a new entrant to the UK, premium Argentinian wine brand Graffigna. Atomic will review the media and social footprints for each brand and then create integrated campaigns to help move them into new lifestyle environments. Their remit includes Jacob's Creek's sponsorship of the Wimbledon Championships and Campo Viejo's Spanish-inspired festival, Streets of Spain.

LONDON—Waggener Edstrom has hired Simon Cliffe, a former broadcast journalist with a background in image licensing, radio and content marketing, as head of editorial and broadcast strategy, working alongside ex-BBC broadcaster and editor Nick Meir in helping WE's broadcast team deliver integrated strategic campaigns across the EMEA region. Most recently, Cliffe was head of news, content and campaigns at Independent Media News, where he created campaigns for some of the UK's biggest household brands.
