DUBAI—Genevieve Picard has been appointed director of corporate communications at hospitality company Jumeirah Group. Picard joined Jumeirah in 2007 as corporate communications manager. Prior to joining Jumeirah, she worked for the Department of Foreign Affairs in Canada and for the University of Ottawa. She will be responsible for the company’s international external communications, managing a network of public relations agencies in the US, Brazil, UK, Germany and China. Her previous role in leading PR for the Dubai properties will now be led by Katerina Dixon.

LONDON—Huntsworth, the international public relations and healthcare communications group and parent of Grayling and Citigate, among others, has appointed Terry Graunke as a non-executive director. Graunke has more than 25 years of experience in marketing services including starting, building, operating, and investing in companies and has been the founder and chief executive of both publicly-traded and private companies. He is the co-founder of Lake Capital Management, a private investment management firm. Entities managed and controlled by Lake Capital and Terry Graunke own almost 10 percent of the voting rights in Huntsworth.

WASHINGTON, DC—Jaime Malet, chairman of the American Chamber of Commerce in Spain, is joining APCO Worldwide as a member of the company's international advisory council. Malet will provide strategic counsel to Spanish companies expanding overseas and international companies conducting business in Spain. He has served as chairman of AmchamSpain for nearly a decade, responsible for supervising the organization of more than 350 leading companies.

HOOFSDDORF—UK-based Hotwire has formed its first exclusive affiliate partnership with Dutch agency Yellow Communications. Having worked closely together as non-exclusive affiliates since 2009, the two firms share clients including Attachmate, Cordys, Sophos, and Western Digital. Founded by Karin van Geelen in 2005, Yellow offers marketing, social media training, and digital campaigning expertise, alongside traditional PR services. Clients include the Netherlands Foreign Investment Agency, Network Hardware Resale and Novo Nordisk.

LONDON—Talk PR has named Claudia Crow (pictured) to a permanent role as creative director, after helping drive growth within its fashion and luxury division during two months as consultant, during which time she led the agency’s work on events such as Fashion Rocks and the V&A Golden Age of Couture as well as campaigns for Asprey, Bottega Veneta, Jill Sander, Tesco, Pinko and Perrier Jouet. In addition, Martina Romieri has joined the fashion team as account manager. Previously, she was global press officer at Links of London.

MARIGNANE—Christoph Müller will become the head of communications for Eurocopter Germany, reporting to Cécile Vion-Lanctuit, vice president of corporate communications for the Eurocopter Group. This newly created position has been established to strengthen communications locally for Eurocopter in the German market. Previously, Müller was the head of corporate communications and strategy for the German land system manufacturer Krauss-Maffei Wegmann.

LONDON—Fleishman Hillard, London has been appointed to manage the six-figure public relations and social media campaigns for the Symington’s portfolio of food brands, including an integrated PR and digital campaign for the Ainsley Harriott range plus campaigns for brands Chicken Tonight and Ragu to follow during the year. Fleishman-Hillard will work closely with Savvy Marketing, the Leeds based integrated marketing agency.

LONDON—The Innovation Group, which offers a software and services-based platform to help the motor and property insurance industries and the automotive fleet sector manage visibility of their claims processes and improve business performance, has hired Bite Communications to establish and communicate its story across six international markets: the UK; US; France; Germany; Australia; and South Africa.

LONDON—Hotwire has won the European PR brief for PacketVideo and its consumer brand Twonky, a specialist in connected home technology. Hotwire has been tasked with raising awareness of Twonky’s connected media apps and multi-media portal for smartphones and tablets and will roll out campaigns in the UK, France and Germany. The PR effort will involve consumer product launches and updates, as well as building PacketVideo’s thought leadership position in the entertainment, media and technology industry.

CARDIFF—Weltch Media has formed a new partnership with EMPRA, A full-service PR and communications agency that works exclusively in the education sector, to provide a comprehensive service for clients in the education sector. EMPRA focuses mainly on schools, further education and education businesses, while Weltch Media's work has been with universities, higher and adult education.

LONDON—Comms-care, a UK provider of IT channel network and server support solutions, has appointed Citigate Dewe Rogerson as its first public relations advisor. The Citigate team, including Phil Szomszor, Judith Massey and Katerina Hejralova, will work with Comms-care marketing director Richard Eglon to develop a program including media relations, collateral development and digital communications.

LONDON—Tom Kiehl will be joining UK Music as director of government relations and public affairs. He joins from the Liberal Democrat whip’s office in the House of Lords, where he has held policy, research and advisory roles there for over a decade, and since May 2010 has played a central part in managing the transition to coalition government. He joins at a time when the industry is working on the proposed Digital Economy Act on intellectual property and copyright issues.

LONDON—College Hill has appointed Rupert Trefgarne as a partner in its natural resources team.
Trefgarne has advised a diverse range of UK and international companies in the resources sector including BHP Billiton, De Beers, Nufcor, PKN Orlen and Gencor, across M&A, IPOs and secondary fund raisings as well as corporate positioning. He joins from KREAB Gavin Anderson and previously worked at Smithfield.

Originally tasked with raising mainstream awareness of alternative dispute resolution and establishing CEDR as a leading voice in the industry, Firefly will now focus on the organization’s not-for-profit work via the CEDR Foundation.

LONDON—Cambridge Airport has appointed Four bgb to handle its PR in the UK following a three-way pitch. Four bgb will be providing PR support to the airport over the next three years as it begins to re-introduce and further develop passenger air services. The firm will be providing both consumer and B2B PR support to the airport as it starts introducing European short-haul operations.

LONDON—A Squared Elxsi Entertainment, a joint venture between A Squared Entertainment and India’s Tata Elxsi, has appointed Boom! as international PR agency of record. A2E2 creates, produces, acquires and distributes digital kids’ entertainment. The account will be led by Boom! founder Justin Crosby who reports to Paul Robinson, president of international at the company.
