PARIS—Finn Partners has acquired Medical & Health Consulting, an independent healthcare consultancy based in Paris that represents several leading global biopharma, health technology, and medical device companies, as well as professional medical associations. Marie-Hélène Coste, MHC founding director, will serve as a senior partner, health, for Finn in Europe.

Healthcare accounts for about $32 million on Finn’s global revenues, and the new French operation—which will join forced with Finn’s existing, predominantly technology-focused, Paris office—will work closely with existing capabilities in the US, the UK, Germany, and Israel.

According to Gil Bashe, who leads the healthcare practice, “As a global firm and a global practice, it’s important that we learn from other markets and other healthcare systems. This group is rooted in France, but they have a deep understanding not only of their own system but of the European system. This will build on our existing strength which is helping clients deal with complex global healthcare challenges.”

In addition, Bashe said, the new acquisition will bolster the firm’s medical technology capabilities. “In the US, we are very strong in the pharma sector, but we are the number of medical technology agency in Israel and we see increasing convergence between the healthcare business and the tech sector, between therapeutics and medical technology. We are seeing digital therapeutics for conditions such as asthma and diabetes, and we are seeing technologies such as artificial intelligence integrated into provider systems.”

Coste will work closely with Paris-based health senior partner Mina Volovitch and will report to Chantal Bowman-Boyles, managing partner, Finn, Europe, and Bashe.

Said Coste, “The health industry—companies working to develop new medicines for unmet patient needs, raising awareness of disease symptoms, and advocating for policies that make health accessible—is mission centered.  A culture of collaboration between ourselves and with our clients is essential to our shared success.  I have known Mina for years and when I met Chantal, Gil and Peter, it became clear that we shared the same vision to make a difference in the world through our clients.”
