SINGAPORE — GCI Health has named Sophie Asker as MD of its Singapore operation, after the office launched the WPP firm's Asia-Pacific presence in 2018.
Asker joins after more than 11 years with Syneos Health in the UK, where she was most recently deputy MD of public relations. She replaces Dan Blomfeld, who has taken on a regionally-focused role as MD of medical communications for Asia-Pacific.
“The addition of Sophie’s Singapore leadership and expansion of Dan’s remit is a significant milestone for us in APAC as we look ahead to 2021 and how we further support our client partners in the new normal," said GCI Health regional MD Rikki Jones (pictured). "Sophie and Dan are incredible people-focused leaders with a proven reputation for driving
powerful communications outcomes."
The appointments follow sustained growth for GCI Health in Asia-Pacific, which has included the launch of a Hong Kong office, and expansion beyond healthcare PR and policy into medical communications and education.
In addition, Jones added oversight of sister firm BCW's Singapore presence earlier in the year.
