SAN FRANCISCO — Former head of Hill + Knowlton’s US tech practice Hadley Wilkins has landed at venture capital firm Redpoint Ventures as head of marketing and communications.
Wilkins surfaced at Redpoint following her departure from H+K in July after seven years with the agency. In her new role, Wilkins will tap into the VC’s expertise to build visibility for its owned channels, traditional media efforts and for industry events.
For instance, since joining earlier this month, Wilkins brought Redpoint partner Geoff Yang into the forefront for his perspective on what the Alibaba IPO ultimately means for Silicon Valley.
Founded in 1999, Redpoint has kept a relatively low-profile in Silicon Valley, despite having made noteworthy investments in companies like Netflix, MySpace, HomeAway, Sonos, Secret and Kabam, among others.
Redpoint has invested in nearly 400 companies, providing seed, early or growth funding rounds that have resulted in 121 IPOs and M&As.
