WINSTON-SALEM, NC — Clothing company Hanes is reviewing PR agency support for a range of its ubiquitous brands, PRovoke Media has learned.

PRovoke Media understands that Hanes is looking for an agency to handle PR for its namesake brand as well as for its Bali, Maidenform, Champion and Playtex lines. The company has worked with Weber Shandwick for roughly two decades.

The business is estimated to be worth $500,000 to $700,000. The pitch is currently at an advanced stage, with a small number of finalists selected from a pool of roughly 10 agencies, sources said.

Hanes did not respond to request for comment.

From its start in 1901, Hanes has grown into a roughly $7bn a year business selling basics like t-shirts, socks, underwear and activewear. In addition to the US, Hanes products are sold in Canada, Mexico, Japan and the Philippines.
