MUMBAI—Adfactors, India's largest PR firm by revenue, has made its first acquisition, buying a majority stake in Bangalore agency Yorke Communications.

Founded by Matilda and Peter Yorke in 2008, Yorke Communications will continue to operate as an independent brand within the Adfactors group.

Adfactors has grown consistently in recent years to reach fee income of more than $17m, according to the World PR Report.

"The acquisition of Yorke Communications was inspired by several potential synergies, apart from a perfect culture fit," said Adfactors CEO and founder Madan Bahal. "It will enhance our core offering, as well as market access. For Yorke, it will offer a much larger platform for their offerings. Peter is an inspiring leader who has built an inspiring team and business."

In particular, the deal is expected to give Adfactors access to a stronger content capability.

"A partnership with the market leader will certainly help us scale up our combined offerings," said Peter Yorke, who will remain CEO of the firm. "Over the last six years, we have serviced more than 95 satisfied customers with content, created through careful research, audience targeting, meticulous planning and precise orchestration."
