LOS ANGELES — Los Angeles Union Station — considered the last of the great railway stations built in the US — has awarded R&CPMK its public relations and events business.

As PR and activation agency of record, R&CPMK will oversee communications and publicity efforts for the landmark station, as well as produce musical, artistic and cultural events throughout the year. Union Station, which is owned by the Metropolitan Transportation Authority and managed Morlin Asset Management, previously worked with Breakwhitelight PR.

R&CPMK will also support visual and performing arts programming presented year-round by the organization Metro Art, which brings public art into the city’s Metro system.

R&CPMK will be partnering with Union Station roughly 10 years into the multi-phase renovation of the 1939 building, which includes a $2.2 billion modernization project to link the station with the city’s Metro Rail subway. In 2021, the Oscars were broadcast from the newly restored facility.

“We wanted an agency that has a love and respect for the space, as well as the necessary partnerships to continue to support our team in making Union Station the center of historical Los Angeles,” said Susan Vance, Morlin Asset Management marketing, brand experience and communications director. “We are looking forward to collaborating with R&CPMK as they bring a level of passion and expertise to our overall strategy and vision for the station.”

Shirley Hughes, R&CPMK's president of brand marketing & communications, said, “We are inspired by the historical significance of Union Station and excited to become stewards of it through our public relations and events work. We believe that our experience and relationships will help shape the continuation of the LAUS story in meaningful ways for our community.”
