WASHINGTON, DC— March For Our Lives leaders and the United Negro College Fund president will be among the headliners at PRovoke19, the Holmes Report's Global PR Summit which takes place at the historic Watergate Hotel next month.

In the session, "From Moment to Movement: Building March For Our Lives," the organization's co-founder Delaney Tarr (pictured right) and board member Bria Smith (pictured left) will talk about how March For Our Lives has changed the calcified debate on gun violence, helping make it a top issue for voters, inspiring a record 47% increase in youth turnout at the 2018 midterm elections, while also encouraging dozens of laws to be passed in favor of gun control. Stephanie Cutter of Precision, March For Our Lives’ agency of record, will moderate the conversation around building one of the largest and most effective youth movements in American history.

United Negro College Fund president Dr. Michael Lomax will also headline a fireside Q&A to talk about the diversity and inclusion and apply lessons from other sectors to the PR industry. Since 2004, Lomax has served as president and CEO of UNCF, the nation’s largest private provider of scholarships and other educational support to African American students and a leading advocate of college readiness: students’ need for an education, from pre-school through high school, that prepares them for college success. Under his leadership, UNCF has raised more than $1.5 billion and helped more than 110,000 students earn college degrees and launch careers.

Tickets for the PRovoke19 event are available here at early bird rates until 17 September. Rooms at the Watergate can be reserved here at a special conference rate.

The headliners join a top-tier speaking roster that includes CVS chief communications officer Kathryn Metcalfe, Johnson & Johnson's Seema Kumar, Microsoft's Doug Dawson, Maeve DuVally from Goldman Sachs, Dell's Jennifer Davis, Lyft's Samantha Goldman, Catherine Hernandez Blades from Aflac, and many more. More speakers, along with the provisional agenda, will be published shortly.
