PARIS--MasterCard is to become the official payment card of the French Open, as part of a five-year sponsorship deal with the French Tennis Federation.

Through Priceless Paris, the latest deployment of MasterCard’s Priceless Cities program, MasterCard will introduce a collection of offers and experiences during the tennis tournament, one of the sport's four Grand Slam contests.

The deal extends MasterCard's existing sports focus, which includes sponsorship of the UEFA Champions League, along with interests in golf, baseball and rugby.

“This is a great opportunity to reinforce our partnership with Roland-Garros and the French Open," said MasterCard CMO Alfredo Gangotena. "It is one of the major events of the year, which demonstrates MasterCard’s expertise in sports sponsorship worldwide and the company’s ambition to continuously offer unique priceless experiences to our clients and tennis fans during the tournament.”
