LONDON—MHP has hired John Gisborne to lead a new global healthcare practice.

Gisborne joins the firm after previously working as UK healthcare head at Hill+Knowlton Strategies. Reporting to CEO Gavin Devine, he is charged with meeting the demand for globally-oriented healthcare and market access campaigns.

His arrival at MHP follows the news that longtime UK health policy heads Mike Birtwhistle and Sarah Winstone are leaving the firm. MHP UK's health practice is being led in the interim by Rupert Gowrley and Rachel Rowson.

“We have a clear vision of the next generation communications services needed by healthcare clients," said Devine. "This new practice, coupled with our market-leading position in UK health communications, will ensure that we deliver impressive results for clients on the international stage."

Before joining H+K in 2007, Gisborne spent five years at Splash Communications.
