ST. LOUIS — Mondelēz International has hired Bayer’s Michelle Samuel to lead global internal communications related to digital, culture and change.

In her new role, Samuel is overseeing the food and beverage giant’s employee-focused digital and culture-related content and communications. Leading sustainability and impact initiatives is also among her responsibilities, which were previously handled by other Mondelēz comms team members.

“Not only is working on brands you grew up with delightful, it gets even sweeter when you’re working with an inspiring purpose, iconic brands and talented teams! Thank you #TeamMDLZ for the warm welcome! Can’t wait to hit the ground running,” Samuel said in a LinkedIn post.

Samuel joined Mondelēz from Bayer’s crop science division, where she spent nearly three years leading global executive, internal and change communications for the finance and strategy functions.

Samuel held senior leadership roles with Monsanto before its acquisition by Bayer in 2018. She spent a total of eight years with Monsanto in the US, India and Singapore.
