AUSTIN, TX — Outdoor gear company Yeti has hired MWWPR to handle part of its North American PR business.

A spokesperson for Austin-based Yeti confirmed the relationship, saying: “Yes, we are working with MWWPR, however we don’t disclose details around our agency partnerships.” Sources, though, tell PRovoke Media that the assignment covers crisis communications and some consumer PR.

Best known for its signature high-end coolers, Yeti has a long-standing PR partnership with Backbone Media, a Colorado firm that specializes in the active lifestyle market. The company also hired Giant Spoon to handle creative and strategy duties.

Founded in 2006 by two brothers, Yeti’s revenue grew to $913.7m in 2019 and is expected to surpass $1bn in sales this year. In addition to coolers, the company sells insulated drinkware and dog beds.

An MWWPR representative declined to comment.
