NEW YORK — Longtime Ketchum exec and partner Paul Wood has ended his run with the agency to join nonprofit Cohen Veterans Network as its chief external affairs officer.

In a Linkedin post announcing the move, Wood said after 13 “great years” with Ketchum, he is “humbled and honored” to join CVN, which serves veterans through a network of free and low-cost mental health clinics.

In his new job, Wood is responsible for all aspects of the CVN brand and oversees communications, marketing, social media and public partnerships. He serves as a member of the group’s senior leadership team, he said.

Joining the nonprofit world is a notable change for Wood, who since June has been the agency’s client leader and director of client experience/development, serving clients such as Michelin. Before taking that role, Wood was director of Ketchum’s New York corporate affairs practice. He joined the agency in 2004 as an executive VP.

Wood leaves amid top-tier leadership changes at Ketchum. On January 1, Barri Rafferty, formerly Ketchum’s global president, became the agency’s new global CEO —  making her the first woman to head a top five PR agency.
